Religious fasts and GLP-1 can coexist with planning. The principles for each.

Navratri 9-day fast

Allowed: kuttu, rajgira, singhara, dahi, fruit, paneer. The trap: heavy potato-based dishes. Choose paneer + sabudana khichdi (smaller portion) + dahi for protein.

Ekadashi

A single-day partial fast is generally fine on GLP-1. Hydration is critical — sip water or buttermilk through the day. If you feel light-headed, eat your usual fruit/dahi without guilt.

Ramadan (sehri to iftar)

Long daytime fast + small evening eating windows is challenging on GLP-1. Discuss with your doctor before — most can continue on a lower dose during Ramadan. Sehri must include protein (eggs, paneer, oats) to last.

When to pause

Severe fasts (3+ day water-only) are not compatible with active GLP-1 use. Talk to us; we'd usually skip a dose.
