Before

Eat a protein-led snack before the function — dahi + sprouts, or paneer tikka 100 g. You'll naturally pick less from the buffet.

At the buffet

Protein first: paneer, chicken, dal, fish. Salads second. Carbs third. Dessert in a small portion if you choose. Walk a lap of the venue before going to the buffet line — gives your body 15 minutes to register the earlier snack.

After

Water the next morning. Walk. Don't skip your next-day breakfast — that triggers a binge cycle. One wedding does not undo a month of progress.
