Used needles aren't household waste. Here's how to dispose responsibly.
Use a sharps container
Cheap (~₹150) at any pharmacy. Or a sturdy plastic bottle with a screw cap as a DIY alternative. Never recap a used needle.
When the container is full
Take it to your nearest hospital or large pharmacy — most accept used sharps for proper incineration. Don't put it in regular bin or recycling.
Children and pets
Store the sharps container out of reach. A used pen with a needle still attached is a real hazard.
