Most women in India retain 5–10 kg postpartum. Here's when GLP-1 becomes appropriate.
First 6 months
Focus on recovery, sleep, breastfeeding (if applicable). GLP-1 is off the table while nursing.
6–12 months post-delivery
Lifestyle first. Many women regain pre-pregnancy weight with consistent walking + protein + good sleep. If progress is stalled and you're not breastfeeding, GLP-1 becomes a reasonable option.
Beyond a year
If retained weight is causing metabolic issues (high BP, insulin resistance, joint pain) and lifestyle has plateaued, full GLP-1 treatment makes sense.
